Rocky DEM: How to improve the pharmaceutical manufacturing process
Join us on the 24th July 2020 at 12:00 PM to learn how pharmaceutical manufacturing process understanding can be improved by using Rocky DEM.
During this Webinar we’ll cover best modeling practices and demonstrate how leading companies have used Rocky to virtually troubleshoot, optimize and scale processes like mixing, granulation, tablet coating, milling etc. The webinar would outline physics and post-processing models implemented in Rocky that enable high fidelity simulation of large and complex pharmaceutical processes.
Our Presenter will be Dr. Saurabh Sarkar is an Applications Engineer for the Rocky DEM within ESSS for past 3 years. Prior to joining ESSS, Dr. Sarkar worked at Sunovion Pharmaceuticals where he supported drug formulation and process development activities. He also held an Adjunct Faculty appointment at Rutgers University. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Delhi University, and Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut in 2015; both in Pharmaceutical Sciences. His doctoral work at UConn was focused on understanding mesoscale effects in granular flows to optimize different pharmaceutical unit operations using DEM and CFD tools in collaboration with a number of industrial and government collaborators. He has authored multiple research publications, is a Senior member at AIChE and serves as an expert reviewer for several journals.
